Blanime started off as a Facebook group that began in 2015 and gained so much popularity that Mike and Senae got together during the Fall of 2018 and decided to host a weekly podcast at the beginning of 2019. The podcast has weekly takes from current and past anime and occasionally features black content creators such as musicians, artists, manga creators, and cosplayers.
